Acknowledged the help and advice given to him by his wife, Natasha, a trained sports psychologist, as he claimed his second European Tour title in the 2003 Qatar Masters with a play-off victory over fellow South African James Kingston at Doha Golf Club. Two years earlier, he had made the most of his opportunity on The European Tour when he captured the 2001 Sao Paulo Brazil Open to earn a two-year exemption. A poor season in 2005 saw him finish 145th on the Order of Merit. Still, he redeemed himself at the Qualifying School by winning the 19th card and had no such worries in 2006 after two early third-place finishes, in South Africa and Qatar, set him up for a solid season. Tragically lost his sister Debbie in a car crash on the eve of the 2001 Mercedes Benz - South African Open.
