The 2020 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship at Harbor Shores Resort was scheduled to be played this week but was canceled due to COVID-19. The KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship will return in 2021 at Southern Hills Country Club and is scheduled May 25 – 30.
In celebration of the major championship, this week Golf Channel will re-air four recent KitchenAid Senior PGA Championships. Below is a complete schedule and a look back at each of the winners of those major championships.
Thursday, May 21 (all times Eastern)
11 a.m. - 2012 Senior PGA Championship, Final Round
(Champion: Roger Chapman)
Roger Chapman won his first major championship in convincing fashion at Harbor Shores, where he became the first champion since Hale Irwin in 1994 to hold at least a share of the lead during every round. The Englishman capitalized on a five-stroke lead to start the final round to cruise to a two-stroke victory ahead of John Cook. Chapman went on to also win the 2012 U.S. Open.
Friday, May 22
11 a.m. - 2018 Senior PGA Championship, Final Round
(Champion: Paul Broadhurst)
Paul Broadhurst came roaring from behind, firing a final round 8-under par, 63 for the low round of the day to capture the 2018 Senior PGA Championship at Harbor Shores. Broadhurst’s round of 63 was also the lowest final round score by a champion in the event’s history, and he matched the 72-hole tournament record (265) set in 2016.
Saturday, May 23
11 a.m. – 2014 Senior PGA Championship, Final Round
(Champion: Colin Montgomerie)
Colin Montgomerie captured his first victory as a senior at Harbor Shores when he won the 2014 Senior PGA Championship by four-strokes ahead of Tom Watson. The victory was also the first in seven years for Montgomerie and first in an official event in the U.S. Montgomerie would go on to successfully defend his title in 2015 at French Lick Resort.
Sunday, May 24
11 a.m. – 2016 Senior PGA Championship, Final Round
(Champion: Rocco Mediate)
Eight years after Rocco Mediate lost in a playoff to Tiger Woods at the 2008 U.S Open, he became a major champion at the 2016 Senior PGA Championship. Mediate won in record fashion by setting a new 72-hole scoring record at 19-under par, three-strokes better than the previous record set by Sam Snead in 1973. Mediate also became the first wire-to-wire champion since Jack Nicklaus in 1991.
