Justin Hicks added another highlight to his scrapbook Sunday when he finished 17th in the Senior PGA Championship to earn Low PGA of America Golf Professional honors.

Hicks was destined to become the low PGA Professional after shooting a pair of 66s to be among the 10 Corebridge Financial Team members to make the cut at The Concession Golf Club. He clinched it by shooting 72-73 in more difficult conditions on the weekend to finish eight shots ahead of fellow PGA Professional Omar Uresti at 5-under 283.

“It was a really special week, one I'll remember I think forever,” said Hicks, a PGA Teaching Professional at Stonebridge Country Club in Boca Raton. “I feel like I’m still riding the wave of the last two years.”

It has been a fun ride for Hicks, the reigning Senior PGA Professional Player of the Year who qualified for two majors last year (PGA Championship and U.S. Open). He won the Senior PGA Professional Championship last year and was the South Florida PGA Section Player of the Year.

Hicks credited his caddie, Tom Gillis, also a former PGA TOUR player, with guiding him around The Concession. Hicks said the experience of playing in the two majors was a positive factor this week.

“I’m used to seeing a lot of rough in these majors, and this one this week, the challenge was totally different, so fast and firm,” Hicks said. “I grew up watching these guys and I had a chance to play with them for a while.”

Hicks heads to Bandon Dunes for next week’s PGA Professional Championship where he’ll try to qualify for the PGA Championship by finishing in the top 20.

A chance for another scrapbook entry.

Uresti shot 75 Sunday to finish tied for 51st at 3-over 291. Here are the eight other Corebridge Financial Team members who made the cut: Bob Sowards (T59, 70-293), Tracy Phillips (T62, 74-294), Steve Holmes (T62, 74-294), Alan Morin (T69, 76-296), Jeffrey Schmid (T69, 75-296), Jeff Martin (73, 79-300), Mick Smith (74, 78-301) and John Pillar (75, 79-302).
