Senior PGA Championship 2026 - Round Two

About the time Justin Hicks would have been in the middle of a two-hour lesson with a junior at Stonebridge Country Club in Boca Raton, Justin Hicks rolled in a 45-foot eagle putt Thursday and went a little crazy.

Hicks had seen a promising start – he was three-under after five holes – start to disappear after two bogeys.

“What’s happening to this round?” Hicks thought.

The long eagle putt made up for the two bogeys and moved Hicks into a tie for sixth place at 6-under 138 at the halfway point of the Senior PGA Championship at The Concession Golf Club.

“I let out a yell when that putt went in,” Hicks said. “I came away with a big smile on my face.”

Hicks remains the low PGA of America Golf Professional – Alan Morin is next at 1-under – but Hicks is focused on much more: A top-five finish and possibly a pathway to the PGA TOUR Champions.

“All I’m looking at on the course is what the leaders are doing,” Hicks said. “I’m treating this like a tournament back home where I’m trying to shoot under par every day and see what happens.”

Hicks, the reigning Senior PGA Professional Player of the Year Award winner, has won plenty lately. But with the PGA TOUR Champions eliminating q-school last year, the Senior PGA Championship is one of the few avenues to get on the 50-and-older circuit.

Nine other members of the Corebridge Financial Team made the cut:

  • Alan Morin (74-69) of Royal Palm Beach, FL
  • Omar Uresti (71-73) of Austin, TX
  • Bob Sowards (74-71) of Dublin, OH
  • Jeff Martin (74-71) of Attleboro, MA
  • Tracy Phillips (75-71) of Tulsa, OK
  • John Pillar (72-74) of Hawley, PA
  • Jeffrey Schmid (71-75) of Iowa City, IA
  • Steve Holmes (74-72) of Simi Valley, CA
  • Mick Smith (75-71) of Australia
