Play in Round 1 of the 2021 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship was officially suspended at 3:48 p.m. CT due to a dangerous situation. At 6 p.m., it was officially called for the day.

The first round will resume at 7:15 a.m. CT on Friday. Evacuation golf cars will leave from the staging area at 7 a.m.  All players must be in position and ready to play at 7:15 a.m. 

When play was halted, Alex Cejka -- winner of the first major of the season on the PGA Tour Champions, the Regions Tradition -- held the clubhouse lead after a 3-under 67.

Steve Stricker, the 2021 U.S. Ryder Cup Captain, was at 3 under with two holes left in his opening round.

Miguel Angel Jimenez, Mike Weir and John Riegger all finished their first rounds before the weather rolled in and each shot 2-under 68.

The forecast for the rest of the day wasn't looking great with severe thunderstorms possible through 8 p.m.
