Tulsa’s Southern Hills Country Club to host major championship golf twice in 12-month span

The PGA of America today announced that those purchasing tickets or corporate hospitality packages for the 2021 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship will receive first priority for purchasing tickets, reserve corporate hospitality packages or volunteer for the 2022 PGA Championship, both to be hosted by Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.

The most historic and prestigious event in senior golf, the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship will be held in Tulsa for the first time on May 25-30, 2021.

The PGA of America is carefully monitoring the rapidly evolving conditions as it relates to the 2021 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship and has not yet finalized attendance capacity or safety protocols, as leaders are working closely with local health officials to prepare a plan compliant with current health requirements for large events.

“In May, our KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship kicks off an unrivaled 12-month period for golf, not only in Oklahoma but anywhere,” said Bryan Karns, Championship Director for both the 2021 and ‘22 events. “Tulsa is well known for its affinity for golf and is one of the few markets capable of holding two Major Championships of this scope and stature in such a short time. I want to thank the City of Tulsa and Tulsa County Health Department, both of whom have been tremendous partners in helping us devise a plan for the Championship. We’re working on a conservative, yet flexible plan that would allow for increased numbers if local health conditions warrant as we approach Championship Week in May.”

Those interested in attending the 2021 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship may purchase the limited tickets currently available at SrPGA.com. Purchasing KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship tickets automatically enters attendees for priority consideration to purchase tickets to the 2022 PGA Championship, which will be played at Southern Hills from May 16-22, 2022.

Those interested in securing 2022 PGA Championship tickets may register online at PGAChampionship.com/2022/tickets and will receive a notification when tickets become available in June. Tickets are only available to pre-registered individuals and purchasing windows are assigned based on registration date. Registration is free and there is no obligation to purchase.

Founded in 1936, Southern Hills has hosted a record four PGA Championships, most recently in 2007 when Tiger Woods captured his fourth Wanamaker Trophy. The Perry Maxwell-designed championship course recently completed an $11 million renovation, which rebuilt every tee box, bunker and green, restored original water hazards and constructed new cart paths.
